Polypropylene is used for caps, covers, containers, flexible clips, and living-hinge designs where low density and useful chemical resistance support the product requirement. Its relatively flexible behavior can be an advantage or a limitation depending on stiffness and assembly needs.

A PP design review should cover hinge direction, wall transitions, shrink behavior, sealing surfaces, color, and exposure to heat or chemicals. Filled and unfilled grades can behave differently, so the grade should be selected before final tool decisions.

They can be challenging because of low surface energy. Any paint or adhesive system should be validated with the exact grade, preparation method, and service environment.

Does PP work for chemical-contact parts?
