A consistent matte preparation that still needs cosmetic controls.

Bead blasting uses controlled media impact to soften machining marks and produce a matte or satin metal surface. It is often specified before clear or colored anodizing, or as a final visual treatment on selected stainless components.

The process does not erase deep tool marks, dents, scratches, or uneven geometry. Cosmetic faces, masking, media cleanliness, and handling after blasting should be defined to prevent contamination and inconsistent texture.

Should threaded holes be protected during blasting?

Critical threads, sealing faces, markings, and fitted areas often need masking or controlled cleaning. Identify them on the drawing.
